Our Founder and History |
Thomas J. Haug is the founder of Aspen Tree, LLC (founded in 2015). Mr. Haug currently sits as Head of Family Office Co-Investment and Advisory for the Borland Family Office and two other billion dollar families. Mr. Haug operates as an internal trusted advisor on all facets of asset allocation, co-investments and structuring of current and contemplated holdings. His primary focus is to foster productive relationships with fellow family offices and ultra-high net worth individuals. Mr. Haug takes pride in building lasting relationships atop a foundation of performance and integrity. Mr. Haug decided to capitalize on this void he observed in the community as an advisor to over 31 single family offices thought his career as an advisor and banker. This venture follows a two-year stint at Fieldpoint Private, as Managing Director and Senior Advisor following a seven-and-a-half-year career with First Republic Bank, where he provided advisory services to families on wealth management, banking, trust and lending. He is personally responsible for the oversight of $280MM in advisory assets and has been involved with over $900MM in real estate debt financing and equity investments. His clients include ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, hedge fund, private equity and venture capital firms. Prior to joining First Republic, Mr. Haug served as a private banker at North Fork Bank, N.A. His early career included positions with Discount Funding and Concord Mortgage Corporation.
A New York native growing up on Long Island, Mr. Haug lives in Merrick with his wife Allison, young daughter Serafina and Shih-Tzu Parker. He currently sits on the Steering Committee of the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation and served as a rescue worker in Ground Zero, following the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Towers. |
